When Mary first engaged with eVolve your future she had low self-esteem, suffered with anxiety and lacked confidence.  She had a part time job as a lunch time supervisor but had recently lost her second part time job as a cleaner due to poor health.

Through a Careers Advice session Mary identified that her ideal role would be working with children as a Teaching Assistant; after looking at the requirements of the role it was clear that Mary would have to achieve her maths & English at level 2 and take part in study to gain a TA qualification.  We explored various routes for her aim and the idea of studying for her maths and English caused her to become very anxious and made her feel that it was an unachievable goal.

A learning plan was designed to support her individual needs and initially the support was 1:1 for on-line learning.  As her confidence grew we introduce basic maths and English work.  She has recently achieved her entry 3 functional skills in both maths and English, something she didn’t think she would ever be able to do.  She has also achieved a variety of on-line course relating to child care.

Mary’s confidence has developed and she is now considering working towards maths and English level 1.

Candidate RB is a mature student who found himself suddenly unemployed.  He called onto eVolve your future to receive some careers guidance as he was finding it difficult to secure suitable employment.  We explored various avenues and reviewed current qualifications and transferrable skills.  We identified that although he has vast experiences within his occupational area he was unable to support this with current & relevant qualifications.

RB’s main experiences were within Health & Safety Project Management so we explored suitable support packages to include Prince 2, CSCS certificate and a variety of cluster units via Virtual College.

RB was submitting his CV to employers but not receiving invitations for interviews and he felt that his CV was suitable.  RB was clearly becoming disheartened and his motivation was reducing.   During a review I suggested that we could develop his CV and make it more personable.

RB agreed and a new CV was produced that had a profile that demonstrated what type of employee he is and a list of skills that matched the type of jobs that he wanted to apply for.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed learning with eVolve your future. The guys in my local learning centre have been so friendly and helpful. They have made a very nervous ‘40-something’ very comfortable and confident in taking on this new challenge. The training itself is broken down into bite-sized sections, making it extremely easy to fit around my home and work commitments. You can do as little or as much as you want, all at your own pace, and there is someone on hand to help you if needed.

“I have completed the training both at home and in the learning centre, and it has been a real joy – so much so that I have already booked my next course.”

“I’ve been working as an IT technician for the past seven years but never really felt I had been progressing professionally. After discussions with my boss on how to further my development, I started looking for courses on server maintenance and administration. I found eVolve your future, during that search, and they offered the perfect course to get me started – the MTA Server Administration Fundamentals.

“I contacted them and was immediately struck by how friendly and helpful the staff were. They explained exactly what the process involved and provided me with all the material required to study the course. Three months later, I successfully completed the course. Now I’m assisting with managing the network and servers at my place of work whilst looking into further server development courses. A huge thanks to everyone in eVolve your future’s team for their help and support.”
